“If Yvette isn’t back soon, we’re going looking.” Victor said placing his weapons on the dresser and settling in. “I’ll give her thirty minutes. I don’t like the way this feels for a simple recon mission.”
Brett got home, showered and changed and tossed himself on the couch. He checked his machine for messages before turning on the television to catch the morning news. He smiled thinking about the night he'd spent with Yvette and got lost in the softness of her body. He let his mind wander over having her back and leaned against the cushions of his sofa feeling comfort and a sense of happiness he thought was lost the minute he heard those gunshots.
Dustin dropped his keys on the table near his door. He sighed heavy as he took his laptop to his desk and dragged himself back into the kitchen. Silently he grabbed a microwavable meal from the freezer and popped it in.
“No…no, no, no, no, NO!” Brett yelled. “FUCK!” The room fell silent. The intercom started again and they could hear the sounds of the fire as the flames flickered and ran throughout the location consuming the evidence and everything else in its wake.
Harrison stood and walked towards the screen near the back wall. “She has a known intimate relationship with this man,” he said bringing up an image on the screen. “Gabriel Tasker, a Field Operations Director for the Agency. Since removing her tracer, he too has come up missing. Now there isn’t any information proving that he is involved, but he is a person of interest in this matter.”
